Building Regulations

Building Regulation in England and Wales

Planning Applications

A planning application is used to build on land or change the use of buildings. Usual maintenance of existing buildings are commonly excluded from the need for planning permission, but anything considered ‘development’ must receive approval in accordance with UK Law.

The granting of permission is normally subject on the local borough or district council. They are usually open to pre-application consultation in order to clarify whether a proposal will require planning permission and, assuming that it does, the probability of such planning permission being granted.
